Osteria Mozza

Located at the intersection of Highland and Melrose, Osteria Mozza offers a spectacular menu in terms of Italian fare, not to mention exceptional service and atmosphere. Spontaneous girls that we are, we did not make a reservation. However, they had no trouble seating us at the mozzarella bar, which quite frankly, was the best seat in the house. Not only did we get to see the prep work, we also greatly enjoyed the table dressing that consisted of monochromatic floral decorations and giant brass animals. We started off with the Red Endive, Fennel and Parmigiano with anchovy date dressing salad. I had the Goat Cheese Ravioli with five lilies. I've sampled a fair amount of ravioli and this was by far some of the best ravioli I have EVER tasted. It was creamy but not overwhelming and cooked to perfection. We finished the evening off with the Orange Creme Gelato and mulberries. I went home content with good food and great company.
